Squaw Valley

Squaw Valley, also known as Olympic Valley, is a small community off Highway 89 between Truckee and Tahoe City. It is famous for being the home of Squaw Valley Ski Resort and the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. Now it is a small mountain community supporting the local mountain.

No matter what you enjoy doing you'll love Squaw Valley. The Village is full of shops and restaurants. There are several spas to enjoy a massage and relax all day. The USA Cable Car is a spectacular and comfortable ride taking you to the top of the mountain year round. At the top you can enjoy ice skating on the Olympic sized ice rink. There also is a climbing wall and a skyjump for adventurous travelers.

Of course the main attraction is skiing and snowboarding.  There is no wonder that Squaw Valley was chosen for the Olympics. It has some of the most challenging terrain in the area. The mountain itself is huge with every type of run you could want including a terrain park.  It is no wonder that when the top mountains are mentioned that Squaw Valley is always on the list.
